Domestic Adoption Program

Barker’s Domestic Adoption Program finds families for infants of all racial and ethnic groups who are born in the U.S.  We work primarily with families residing in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.  Our program includes:

bulletComprehensives Services
bulletIndividual services for home study and post-placement
bulletAdoption of African American and Multiracial Children
bullet Assistance in the Adoption of Special Needs Children
bulletNEW! Project Wait No Longer: Permanency for Foster Youth

General applicant guidelines for all Barker Foundation placement programs, include:

bulletApplicants are in good physical and mental health.
bulletApplicants are not actively involved in infertility treatment at the time they make application to adopt.
bulletA parent will stay home with the child full time for a minimum of six weeks following placement.
