Support Groups
Groups are often another excellent way to learn and
grow. In addition to sessions on particular topics, Barker offers the
following on-going groups for members of the adoption circle:
 | Our Birth Parent Group is open to anyone who
has placed a child for adoption. The purpose of the group is to provide
a place where birth parents can talk about their experiences, feelings
and thoughts with others who have made the same decision. The group is
led by a a professional who is also a birth mother and meets the second
Thursday of each month from 7:00 - 9:30 p.m.

| Our Adopted Persons Group is open to adoptees
18 years of age and older. The purpose of the group is to give people an
opportunity to talk about their feelings, concerns, and questions about
being adopted. The group meets monthly in the evening. |
