Individual Counseling and Groups While adoption issues are commonplace at Barker they often go unrecognized or are over-emphasized by the rest of our society. Even qualified therapists often do not understand how the normal tasks faced by everyone involved in adoption weave their way through life stages. With nearly 60 years of experience, Barker is well qualified to assist people in each of the roles of the adoption circle in dealing with the many unique aspects of life in the context of adoption. As more clients return to the agency for information from our files, or sometimes to search for birth relatives, Barker's objective is to facilitate informed decision-making that balances the interests and well-being of all concerned.
