China Waiting Children Program
Barker currently has an additional option within our China Program for prospective parents to consider.
The children in the China Waiting Children Program are between the ages of infant to 14 years old, and have a wide range of special needs. Some children have minor correctable needs whereas others have more severe and permanent special needs. Healthy children who are over 10 years of age sometimes are placed through this program as well.
Barker participates in both the Shared List Program and Agency Dedicated List Program operated by the CCAA. We are currently seeking families for the children who have been assigned to Barker by CCAA through the Agency Dedicated List program. Please contact us if you are interested in learning more about the children in our program.
Requirements
The requirements are the same as those in the regular China program except the parents must be under 55 years of age at the time the dossier is submitted.
Process
A child can be identified once the family completes their dossier. The more flexible the family is, the less time it takes to identify a child. Once a child is identified, the family travels within six months. The family will stay in China approximately 2 weeks. The remainder of the process is the same as in our regular China program.
