The Barker Foundation has had the privilege to work with many adoptive families who live outside of our immediate Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia area for an international adoption.

For our China, Colombia, India and Nepal programs, we can work with adoptive families from several states. For our Korea program, we can work with adoptive families living in North Carolina and southern Virginia. If you are a prospective adoptive family and reside outside of our immediate area, please contact us and we can discuss the possibility of working with you on your adoption process.

When we work with adoptive families from other states, we collaborate with a network agency in your area on your behalf. Barker has established networking partnerships with many out of area agencies in the past and also is willing to start new relationships as needed. Please note that Barker primarily works with Hague accredited or approved agencies. Your local agency takes responsibility for home study preparation, paperwork for Citizenship and Immigration Services, and post-placement services.

The Barker Foundation’s networking services fee covers the cost of overseas representatives and support of our international partners, as well as guidance and support to families with dossier preparation or other parts of the process.
