Adoption doesn’t end at placement. It is a lifelong relationship, connecting birth parents, adoptive parents and adopted persons.

The Barker Foundation’s commitment to all those involved in an adoption is lifelong. We can provide information to birth parents, adoptive families and adult adopted persons. An exchange of information between parties can be facilitated by the agency. We are conducting searches with increasing frequency and are available to discuss options with Barker clients.

Overview
As an adoption agency with 65 years of history, we receive numerous requests for information. We can provide information to birth parents, adoptive families and adult adopted persons. An exchange of information between parties can be facilitated by the agency. We are conducting searches and facilitating some reunions with increasing frequency, and are available to discuss options with Barker clients.
Many activities and resources are available for families after they bring their child home.

The New Parent Group offers new parents the opportunity to meet other new adoptive families and to discuss parenting and adoption issues. Social activities include Barker’s annual picnic, family outings and cultural celebrations. In addition to our Annual Conference, Barker also offers a variety of workshops throughout the year.
Over time, some families consult with our experienced social workers about issues that arise for adoptive families. Individual counseling is available on a fee for service basis for birth parents, adoptive parents and adult adopted persons. We also offer on-going support groups for birth parents, adoptive parents and adopted persons.
