Interim Care for Infants

The Barker Foundation is blessed with a wonderful group of loving families who provide interim care for babies if birth parents feel they need more time to make their decision about whether to parent the child or go forward with an adoption plan.

While most of the infants in interim care are with these special families for a short time, such care is vital to meeting the needs of the child. Each foster family is required to complete a home study with a social worker, as well as take the required training on CPR and use of car seats. Annual education hours are required, and Barker hosts regular, monthly continuing education meetings.

Barker’s community of interim care families is experienced and committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for every child in their care.
